When you’re living in a first world country, it’s important to remember there are people out there struggling for decent qualities of life.
Take, for example, the 20-year-old who was cursed with the burden of driving a 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia provided to him by his Swiss businessman father. Meanwhile, available to those who can afford it is a 2014 model of the same car entitled teens everywhere are calling, “so clutch,” probably.
The young man did the only thing one can do in a situation such as his.
He reportedly took a little road trip to Bavaria where he spent some quality time with a prostitute and paid a duo of handy arsonists a reasonable $15,000 to soak his ride in gasoline (that goes INSIDE the car, you guys) and set it aflame.
If it weren’t for that pesky security camera footage, phone records and other very obvious clues the man should have considered ahead of time, he would have gotten away with it!
Police did assume at first the torched sports car was a consequence for debt owed to the brothel, but through an average amount of investigation, they were able to conclude the young man arranged for the inferno in an effort to collect insurance money and get himself an upgrade.
The young man’s father allegedly gifted him 14 cars previously and more than $25 million in properties, but the son was disappointed with his current transportation and, frankly, his monthly allowance wasn’t going to be enough for the new Ferrari.
The Carsonist is reportedly serving 30 months of probation and paying off about a $33,000 fine, which, if you think about it, is really going to cut into his Ferrari savings.
Let’s just take a second to think about the horrible situation the kid was in — not only was his Ferrari no longer the newest, best model he could buy, but he was only receiving $13,000 a month in allowance money. Oh, and the fact he only has 14 other cars, including peasant models like a Lamborghini. I mean, did he have any other option?
See, that’s the cool thing about life. No matter how rich you are, no matter where you come from, you always want more, you always want better, and you’ll always fake it til you make it. Even if it means setting your Ferrari on fire.
This kid has Lambos and Ferraris for days and a $30 million portfolio, on top of a 5 figure monthly allowance, and he was STILL scheming. It’s just an innate part of being a human, you always are on the prowl, always trying to scam and shyst and fraud people.
For poor people like me, it’s not quite lighting cars on fire, it’s more along the lines of calling the cable company and trying to get free HBO, trying to talk a bartender into hooking up a free drink, things like that. But the richer you get, the more elaborate your schemes have to be.
His burning of the Ferrari is really no different from anything you or I do, it’s all relative to how much money you have. So for all the people calling this kid a spoiled brat, relax. Think about the outdated slow car you once drove and all your friends made fun of it. Well now imagine driving around an outdated Ferrari. Woof.
