This Guy’s Romantic Photo’s With a Burrito Are Everything Engagement Photos Should Be – This is True Love.
We live in a day and age where couples get engaged and their first thought is “I can’t wait to post on Facebook and Instagram!” instead of “I can’t wait to call my friends and family!” You know it’s true. And with that territory comes status updates that are more unappealing than a Kay Jewelers commercial. I have never been proposed to but I imagine it’s a pretty great feeling when someone you want to marry actually feels the same way and pops the question. I’m truly happy for my friends (and random Facebook friends!) who are entering into a lifetime of monogamy with the ones they love. But some of these statuses and pictures have to be addressed. Call me a bitter 20 something who hasn’t found the man of my dreams (which is totally accurate) but I think these newly engaged couples deserve to have some fun poked at them!

And that is exactly what this guy did. Writer David Sikorski came up with his own response to all the lovey-dovey engagement photos he was subjected to on a routine basis on his Facebook page and the result is simply perfect.”With so many domesticated photos of staged afternoon picnics in the park or holding hands running along the beach, I figured people would be interested in sharing the happiness of my own current love life situation as well,” Sikorski told BuzzFeed.
Sikorski enlisted photographer Kristina Bakrevski to help make his burrito-filled visions of true love come to life. “[David Sikorski] got engaged to a burrito over the weekend & I was blessed enough to photograph the happy couple,” Bakrevski wrote on her Instagram page. This is so beautiful, I am already in tears.
Sikorski met the burrito at Taqueria La Cumbre in the Mission District of San Francisco. It was love at first sight. You can tell Sikorski and his burrito really have a relationship built on communication and understanding! What else would you ever want in a relationship?
“We haven’t established a set date yet, but over the next few months I hope to be introducing our menu of friends to one another,” he says. How romantic is that?! #goals
If I ever decide to get married and make the bold choice to do fancy themed engagement photos, they are going to be just like this. What better way to celebrate love than me and my favorite food item of choice — probably a plate of chicken wings and a bottle of 6 pack of bud light— romantically gazing off into the sunset. I’m sure my fiancé would be thrilled as long as I shared.
So here’s a huge shout out to David Sikorski being funny and Kristina Bakrevski’s sweet photography skills for giving every single girl something to laugh at and relate to. Everyone’s day will come, and I hope you can execute engagement photos as beautiful and meaningful as these ones.
