Jewelry Boca Raton
Jewelry has been a part of our lives for thousands of years. Human beings have always dressed ourselves up by wearing jewelry. It helps us express how we are feeling and what we want to look like. This Fall, there are five jewelry exhibitions that everyone should see. They are from all different time periods and feature different brands of jewelry Boca Raton.
1. Glittering World: Navajo Jewelry of the Yazzie Family
In November, there will be 300 pieces of Navajo jewelry at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian. The museum is located in downtown Manhattan. All of the jewelry is authentic. It features a lot of diverse designs that show a history of migrations, trade, and cultural exchange. The jewelry shows reciprocity, harmony, balance, and respect for family, all things Native American’s have always preached.
2. The Power of Style: Verdura at 75
Verdura is turning 75 this year. And to celebrate they are displaying more than 150 pieces made by the late jeweler Duke Fulco di Verdura. The collection includes jewels and objets d’art. Other pieces included in the exhibition will be Gouache jewelry designs, archival materials and personal miniature paintings. It opens this week and runs through December 23rd.
3. Brilliant: Cartier in the 20th Century
Off to Denver. This November through March of next year, the Denver Art Museum will have more than 250 pieces of jewelry, watches, and other precious objects from Cartier. It will trace the brand’s history from the turn of the 20th century to 1975.
4. Death Becomes Her: A Century of Mourning Attire
The Metropolitan Museum of art is going to feature attire, accessories, and jewelry that were worn by people in mourning throughout history. The display is going to explore the aesthetic development and cultural implications of mourning fashions of the early 19th and 20th centuries. Kind of depressing huh?
The Winterthur Museum in Wilmingon, Deleware is going to showcase clothing and jewelry worn from the award-winning PBS series Downton Abbey. It is going to run through January 4th of next year. Some of the pieces included in this collection are a feather hear slide, a wave scroll tiara, and a double drop necklace of pearls and crystals, all made by Swarovski.
